On our visit to the area of Verona, we were charmed by Cristina and Carlo, the proprietors of Famiglia Orlandi, their olive oil production, and the history of their property.
The pride of the Orlandi estate, Fioi was created from an expertly balanced blend of olive varieties.
Medium fruitiness with green aromas of fresh leaves, bitter almond, artichoke and a delicate hint of tomato.
Persistent and complex, with pleasantly balanced bitter and peppery notes.
A historian of the village, also the co-author of the book "Illasi", was told by the prior owners of the farmhouse that it was used as a fort for American Soldiers during World War II. Bicycles, tobacco and weapons belonging to the US soldiers were found in the cellar.
